Please ensure you have renewed your BMFA Insurance !
May 2011
AGM has now taken place, minutes will follow via email soon and summary posted here. Please note and as mentioned at the meeting, all members must call or text Kempton Secuirty when entering & leaving the site. Secuirty will inform the club if members are seen flying and have not checked in. This is a Kempton requirement and not a club one, so please respect our hosts request in this matter.
March 2011
Please remember there is strictly no flying past the treeline toward the racecourse. Also only flying North of the road is allowed.
Nov 2010
You should have all received an email directing you to another web page so members can see who maybe flying or intending to fly on a daily basis and would like to encourage you to try this out for a number of reasons, but mainly to encourage more use of our great site !

Dear Member,
I trust that you have all recieved and read the chariman's AGM report. I am sorry to say that I am still getting queries over tthe security number, please read the emails that have been sent. The security number is 07825 238431 please make a note. I know the old cards do not have the right number, however, if you wish a new card, please send a new passport size photo to the membership secretary and a new card will be issued.
For the present moment all members must contact security upon entry and exit to the flying site by text or phone, I know this can be a bit of a bore, but is due primarily to the noise complaint. We hope this will be resolved fairly soon. If you do not have a mobile, we suggest one for your own safety too, and Tesco have them from approx. £10 upwards. Please be aware that security have been instructed to list all members onsite, so carry you membership card with you at all times onsite.
Members please also note that THE FLYING AREA for all pilots when flying should stand in the designated area, facing the the runway on the north side of the road and do not stand on the runway whilst models are in flight. Flying should normally be in the form of right-hand circuits when the downwind end is to the right (towards Hampton), and left hand circuits when the downwind end is to the left (towards Sunbury), if in doubt consult one of the comittee members usually on site. At no time should pilots fly south of the road or over the east tree line adjacent to the racecourse. All flying during the summer months will cease by 9 pm. A number of members have been cautioned for flying south of the designated area.

Dear Member,
With immediate effect there is a flying restriction starting at 21:00 hrs therefore all flying must be stopped by this time. We would like to remind all members that models are adequately silenced as Kempton Security will be making nosie level checks in the pitts area and when flying. Please bear in mind with the wind blowing from the North as it oftern does, sound will be carried to the properties opposite gate 6 where we enter the racecourse. You must fit the engine makers recommended silencer as a minimum.
Regards,
Andy & Jim
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Member,
A diary note for you all, we will be organising a few BBQ nights similar to last year starting on the first Tuesday of July, and then August and September, and the nosh time being about 7.30pm. Let's see if we can make it as good as the AGM night !
On a safety note, please do take care that your model is adequately secured whilst in the pit area. We advise all pilots to make sure to carry a mobile phone on your person, if alone. (switched off of course!)
Happy Landings, Jim.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Dear Member,
If you did'nt get to the AGM, you missed a good evening, a little chilly but well supported. The main topic was the change of name, and "Kempton Park Model Flying Club" being officially adopted. (web address: www.kpmfc.com ). I advise all to use the web site for current information, "no fly dates" , "members sales" etc
Kempton Park Racecourse has advised that we must notify security when entering and exiting the park, telephone number is on your membership card, unless you have one of the old ones. This is mandatory I'm afraid. If you wish a new membership card with the up to date emblem and phone number, then please return to me and I will issue a new one.
Also in the pit area please park as far south as possible and leave plenty of room for aircraft management etc. We should endeavour to have 100m from the flying area to the parked vehicles, this is the BMFA recommendation. We have also mown a position adjascent to the pits area, this is for helicopter hovering practice only and is not a flying area.
The BMFA members handbook 2010 is now availableand has many revisions to the old one, it is well worth purchasing this up to date version.
At last we have permission to prune the hazard tree to the east of the strip, this will be done in the near future.
Please, if you have not paid your subs yet, let me have them ASAP ! If you do not wish to continue your membership then please have the courtesy to let me know and return your key and swipe card in a jiffy envelope.
Please note membership fees does not include BMFA Insurance, which you MUST have before flying ! If you are unsure please read the club rules. The current club rules will be revised to incorporate Kempton Park Racecourse requests and will appear on the web site in due course, when ratified by the committee.
HAPPY FLYING
Jim Halliday - Member Secretary
Dec 2009
Dear Member,
As you maybe aware our Addlestone MFC Website has been unavailable for sometime now due to incursion by web hackers, we have therefore "provisionally" decided to create a new one and propose to change the club name to "Kempton Park Model Flying Club" at the next AGM. Over the years we have lost our Addlestone roots and our affilation from Addlestone Model Shop, so this appears an appropriate time for a name change.
The new website is at http://kpmfc.com for those wishing to view, but please remember this is purely provisional upon acceptance by the commitee and members at the AGM in May 2010. Additional comments and photo's etc, would be considered to develop this new site.
You should also be aware that Jim Halliday has now replaced Garry Coppin as the Membership Secreatary. Gary will remain on the committee, and we thank him for the last 2 years of memorable service. Jim's contact details are: j.halliday@freeuk.com
In case you are not aware, Club discount is available on many items at West London Models upon presentation of your club membership card.
Do not let the dreary winter weather put you off flying, we would like to see many more members flying, the most popular times seem to be Thursday and Sunday mornings at the moment. Do not forget even on evening race days we can still fly until 2pm.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a Merry Christmas and many happy landings for 2010 !
Best Wishes
Andy Banks.
